Just For Fun
Minnie

When Minnie was 4 years old she was diagnosed with FIV (Feline Aids), a death sentence in the minds of most owners. She lived in a large household with many other cats including her sister, brother and mother, none of which had the disease. In fact, how she got it is still a mystery since her owners adopted her and her siblings when they were weeks old and all were indoor-only cats.

When Minnie came in, the top of her head was bald and she had stopped eating. She had been to another clinic that had been unable to diagnose her problem for some reason. As it turned out, her baldness was easily diagnosed, she had a very bad case of ringworm. Again strange, as none of her housemates had this very contagious condition. After running blood tests it was determined that she had FIV and the ringworm was undoubtedly a case of an opportunistic infection taking over.

After clearing up the ringworm and getting her to eat again, Minnie made an amazing recovery. She continued to live peacefully with seven other cats and two Labrador retrievers until she was 18 years old.
